About

Hey there!
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a little princess. On the outside, she looked like every other little girl who played and imagined and dreamed. But in her head, she lived in distant lands where numerous tales began to unfold even before she could write. However, she wasn’t aware of the reality that we live in today – young authors can be successful. She learned this upon discovering the Young Writer’s Workshop, where she was equipped with the knowledge she needed to take on the world.
And that little girl was me. I’ve always been a dreamer, always wanting to craft worlds of my own. To invent characters, creatures, and plots that would cause readers to gasp, cry, and throw the book across the room. Why? Because it was that good. That inspiring. I want to write that kind of real that grips you, enlightens you, and shows you a view of the world you’ve never seen before. I want to share the Gospel in my writing, the Ultimate Truth: that Jesus Christ is our only source of salvation, and that without Him we are nothing.
I want to light a flame and watch it grow.

I’m the oldest of four kids, (Alec, Eliana, and Daniel), and I treasure them. I want to inspire them to dream the way I’ve learned to – to use their passions and their talents for the glory of God. I want to be the best sister I can be. This is something I aspire to do every day, and yes, I’m not perfect – no one is. But Jesus helps me as I make the choice to get back up every single time I fall.
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” (The Fellowship of the Ring).
I love so many things. Chocolate, iced coffee, writing, music, baking, crochet, cross stich, butterflies, and Cavaliers. My favorite song artists would have to be for KING & COUNTRY, Josiah Queen, Forrest Frank and Colton Dixon. I’ve read too many books to count and I intend to read many more. I love the snow and fuzzy sweaters and the way you feel when a kitten purrs and says “I love you, human.” I love my family and most of all, I love my Savior. You’ll find this all comes out in my writing because this is who I am.
I am a child of God. ♡

He never said that it would be easy, only that He would never leave us or forsake us. Remember that. Remember that when your siblings are screaming, your homework looms over you, and you didn’t get enough sleep or breakfast because you were stressed and scatterbrained. Remember when you totally forgot that thing you promised your friend you’d do and you feel like you’ve ruined everything because, my dear, you haven’t. Just breathe. Jesus is there in the midst of the chaos. Remember that He’s working everything for good because He loves you. Remember and never forget.
Hold your flame close, shield it from the wind, and remember that the time for it to shine again is near. Maybe you just haven’t seen it yet. ♡

Family is one of the most important things you’ll ever be a part of. Church family, immediate family, distant family, adopted family – all of them. Love them. Pray for them. Care for them. Be thoughtful. Thank Jesus for the privilege of knowing them.
Treasure the small things. The autumn breeze, the sound of falling snow, your baby sister’s giggle. Treasure them all and thank Jesus over and over and over and over and over. And then thank Him one more time and smile. Feel the sun on your face, dance in the rain, scream at the book, randomly hug your friend, and embrace the future. Why? Because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
WORLD ON FIRE by for KING & COUNTRY and Can’t Steal My Joy by Josiah Queen (ft. Brandon Lake) are the two songs that I feel echo the theme of this blog. The mission, the goal. We weren’t meant to light our candle and then shove it under a basket because we’re too afraid of rejection, of what other people will think of us. The latter song rings out with the lyrics, “What the world couldn’t give, no, it can’t take away. And sorrow may come but it can’t steal my joy.” Only Jesus can give you what you’re looking for. Only Jesus can fill that empty space inside of you that longs for light while stuck in darkness. And only Jesus can help you choose joy over the fear of letting your candle burn. Ask Him. Ask Him to help you because I know He will. He’ll help you set the world on fire… just you watch.
Well, you’ve gotten to know me. My hope is that I’ve encouraged you in your faith and inspired you to light your flame. Allow me to bless you before you leave, dear friend.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26 ESV.
Light your candle. Shine your flame. Set the world on fire. Choose love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Remember your Savior loves you. Never forget you’re priceless.
Aur revoir, with love & sparkles,
Lyla Rose ♡
